Coronation Street Spoilers: Lydia Admits Secret Affair With Adam

“Coronation Street” spoilers have revealed sinister Lydia Chambers will bring her plans to new heights by telling Sarah outright she’s having an affair with her husband Adam.

After stalking and threatening her ex-boyfriend Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), Lydia (Rebecca Ryans) is stepping up her game to tear apart the couple. Sarah (Tina O’Brien) was already furious when her husband Adam canceled their romantic plans on Valentine’s day for a client, and Lydia took advantage of the situation by making it look like she received a lingerie set as a present from her married ex and that he’s giving her mixed messages.

Lydia then followed Adam to the hotel where she deliberately left her gold watch and hid it in a plant pot and told the waitress that if they found it, they contact her “boyfriend” Adam.

Lydia’s plans come to life next week on Friday’s episode (February 25) when Sarah answers Adam’s phone to the waitress from the hotel informing her they’ve found the gold watch from last time. Later in the factory, the girls confide with each other, Lydia informs her she spent the night with her married ex, and Sarah shares about the recent call.

Sarah’s getting suspicious with her friend and when she comes home, she looks through Adam’s receipts and gets surprised to see he actually bought something from an expensive lingerie shop in London. Her emotions run high when she phones the hotel to ask about Adam’s bill and finds out he ordered Champagne and oysters.

Believing that she already found the loophole, Sarah confronts Lydia and the villainous character does her waterworks and admits she’s having an affair with Adam.

But her confession is cut when Adam arrives and assures Sarah there’s no truth with all her words, but she shows him pieces of the evidence she found. How will Adam explain the situation? Will Sarah ever change her mind?

Corrie star Rebecca Ryans has talked with the media regarding her role as newcomer Lydia on the cobbles. She teased that in the end, viewers will see “she’s not doing this just to be a bad person, she’s doing this for a reason.”

The actress clarified that her character’s plan to put a wedge between the couple wasn’t pre-meditated and her friendship with Sarah was genuine. Only that things spiraled down when she met Adam and he hadn’t remembered her at all.

“Her relationship with Adam changed the course of her life, basically. She’s just really struggling to get over that and the worst thing for her is that he hasn’t admitted it or hasn’t acknowledged it… I think that’s all she would have needed,” she told the Mirror.

She disclosed that this is Lydia’s own way of saving Sarah because she doesn’t want her to go through what she experienced with him. However, it seems like Lydia has another explosive surprise because she has a child in the soap which could be Adam’s. Could Sarah recover from this huge blow?
