Coronation Street spoilers and updates reveals actor Ryan Prescott has reacted to his character Ryan Connor’s heartbreaking storyline with long-term partner Alya Nazir, teasing that Ryan feels lost.

Ryan (Ryan Prescott) and his girlfriend Alya (Sair Khan) are expected to end their long-term relationship in Coronation Street this week.

As a result of the new show villain Daisy Midgley’s (Charlotte Jordan) dirty game of seducing Ryan under the influence of alcohol, the DJ begs the barmaid not to disclose he spent the night with her in a room at the Rover’s Return pub.

However, Daisy advances her evil tricks when she sees Ryan trying to make amends with Alya after she spent the night worrying about him.

Daisy meddles while the couple is talking, faking her disappointments and telling Ryan it’s unfair for her to lie that they were together the whole night.

Ryan was all Alya had during the show’s huge storyline with Yasmeen (Shelley King) and abusive husband Geoff (Ian Bartholomew), but now Ryan feels like he’s been set aside from the spotlight.

“I think due to the nature of his life over the past six months to a year, including being a support system for the whole Geoff and Yasmeen storyline, he’s just got to a point where he feels a little bit forgotten,” actor Ryan told the media.

The Coronation Street actor pointed out that Ryan has no real friends, no family, no real prospects or opportunities aside from his recent DJ gig introduced by Daisy, but he’s not really getting anywhere. Ryan is searching for his purpose or for something that matters.

Their conflict started when Alya turned down his night date plan over her work and reminded him to work even harder so that they can buy their own place soon.

“The DJ-ing hasn’t really taken off and he wasn’t taken very seriously by the person that he loves the most,” he recalled.

Ryan believes the lack of attention and purpose, and his character’s frustrations of not being able to chase his dream the way he wants it to are the mixed reasons Ryan is pushed into the wrong situation.

Coronation Street Soilers – Actor Ryan Connor Prefers Alya Nazir Over Daisy Midgley To Be With Ryan Prescott

The actor admitted he believes Ryan is better with Alya on Corrie, pointing out there’s more room for him to grow both as a character and as a human.

When asked about whether Ryan wants to save the relationship, the actor said Ryan is devastated and wants to save their relationship “above all costs.”

“I don’t think he believes he deserves to be forgiven for this. But at the same time, he’s made so much progress over the past year or so. Alya is everything to him,” he added.

“Right now, above everything, I think he feels a little bit lost,” the actor revealed.
