In the previous episode of the longest-running soap, Stephen unsuccessfully ended Elaine’s life when she survived the caffeine intake and was able to call for help. Though the situation pissed him off, the man gave out concerned gestures when his fiancée was rushed to the hospital. As he hoped for Elaine’s ending, he expressed madness under his breath when the doctor announced that the woman would be able to return home the next day.

Due to the failed murder, Stephen ignored Elaine as she practiced her Tai Chi exercises. Wondering about her fiancé’s gesture, she approached Michael and learned that Stephen missed Canada, leading her to conduct a Canada Day. Meanwhile, Stephen and Owen spent lunch together and talked about Underworld. As the popular villain tried to win Owen’s trust, the businessman expressed his uncertainties towards Stephen.

Owen opened up about his suspicions that he was using Seagull Ltd to get funds from the company. Moreover, he stated Stephen’s desire of having Jenny back in his life again. Before he could voice his mind, the popular villain was shocked when the apartment door swung open and found Elaine, Audrey, Sarah, and Michael with Canadian flags. Though he was happy with the sweet gesture, his mood changed when he spotted Elaine having a disheartened countenance.
