Coronation Street spoilers: Summer Spellman Left To Die After Mistaken Arrest

Coronation Street spoilers have teased worrying scenes for Summer Spellman next week as she falls into a diabetic coma after the police mistake her for drink bingeing.

Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) has been struggling to live a normal life as a teenager after getting diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. To add to her health horror, the schoolgirl is facing puberty and wants to be socially accepted as pretty which triggers her eating disorder that greatly affects her insulin levels. On top of it all, the schoolgirl is also putting her health over her studies in order to maintain her grades at the university.

However, all these pressures will add up causing Summer’s health to deteriorate in upcoming scenes, which will see Summer being rushed to the hospital. Will she be okay?

‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Jacob Hay Puts Summer Spelling In Grave Danger

The drama starts with Summer having an argument with friend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) at the Victoria Gardens. A concerned Amy realizes what Summer has been doing with her health and confronts her about her bad behavior which will end with a deadly consequence.

However, Summer who’s in denial of the severity of her illness angrily commands Amy to leave her alone oblivious to the fact that former drug dealer Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) is having a treacherous business on the other side of the garden.

This comes after the bad boy buys the unwanted alcopops which Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman) over-ordered at the Corner Shop and decides to sell them even without a license just to make ends meet.

The tension rises when Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) tips off the police about Jacob’s illegal business and the guilty lawbreaker does a runner when the authorities arrive.

The matter gets out of hand when the officers discover Summer slumped on a bench next to the boxes of alcopops, leading them to accuse her of drink bingeing unaware of her health conditions.

Assuming that she’s just drunk, they take her to the police station which puts her in grave danger as she falls into a diabetic coma. Fortunately, Amy and Aadi (Adam Hussain) hears the news and orders Craig (Colson Smith) to check on their arrested friend.

Actress Harriet Bibby has previously explained why her character Summer is in denial about her case. She said that the schoolgirl doesn’t want to be treated differently because of her health.

“I think there’s a level of frustration with it of people coming around to check in on her. Yes, it’s out of kindness. But actually, it’s frustrating because she feels like she’s not being allowed to just live her life normally,” she told Digital Spy.
