Teenager Kelly Neelan and the real culprit Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) stood trial which saw the former found guilty while the latter set free all because his father Stefan (Paul Opacic) used his wealth to pay witnesses in favor of his son.
Vulnerable Kelly hasn’t come to terms with the verdict of spending years in prison and attempted to end her life while locked up.
Kelly’s foster parent Toyah Battersby is worried about the teenager’s sentencing which will take place on September 29’s double bill. “There’s a real worry that the sentencing could tip her [Kelly] over the edge,” actress Taylor told Digital Spy.
Taylor also disclosed that more drama will happen to her on-screen partner, Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) as he pleads with the judge to weigh up Kelly’s troubled childhood and her mental health issues as he gives an impassioned speech.
Imran will also be caught in the middle when Abi’s former partner Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) rages at Corey’s lawyer Sabeen (Zora Bishop), Imran’s ex-wife which will turn into a physical fight with Imran ending up “with an elbow in the face” as revealed by Taylor.
Sabeen insists on bringing Imran to the hospital which irks Toyah as she’s suspicious about the former couple due to Imran’s series of lies. Toyah’s suspicions grow stronger when she sees the two whispering about something which Taylor revealed Sabeen is blackmailing Imran regarding the drug lord Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) case.
Will Imran give in to Sabeen’s demands?
Coronation Street Spoilers: Imran Habeeb Betrays Toyah Over Harvey Gaskell’s Case
It looks like Imran is threatened by Sabeen’s blackmailing as the long-running soap has confirmed that the lawyer who previously refused to take part in Harvey Gaskell’s case will have to cooperate with the drug dealer Harvey’s appeal case.
It’s all because Sabeen will support Imran’s version of events when Toyah learns he has been lying about his whereabouts after Kelly’s verdict which saw him heading to the bar with Sabeen.
On Friday’s (October 1) double bill, Imran confesses to Toyah that he spent that night at Sabeen’s house but that nothing happened between them. Sabeen confirms this story although, in reality, Imran didn’t stay at her house all night long.
To protect his mysterious secrets, Imran follows Sabeen’s orders which will be a tough spot for Imran’s partner Toyah as Imran will be standing against her sister Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) who Harvey previously terrorized.
Will this cause more gaps in the couples’ already crumbling relationship?
