Coronation Street Star Qasim Akhtar Leaves The Cobbles As Zeedan Starts Fresh In London

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Qasim Akhtar will soon leave the cobbles as his character starts a new life in London.

In the previous episode of the longest-running soap, Zeedan Nazir’s ex-wife, Marrium stepped foot in Weatherfield to confront him about the death of her father. Last December 2021, it was seen that Hashim suffered from a heart attack, but Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) and Alya (Sair Khan) didn’t bother to call for help as they partly desired the man to be out of their lives. Meanwhile, Ryan Connor arrived and called an ambulance, but it was already too late.

When Marrium appeared in the cobbles to find justice for her father, Zeedan begged his estranged wife to never let the authorities know about the incident. Alya also explained that she was the one to blame as she encouraged Zeedan not to call for any help.

On the other hand, Alya hoped that the couple can still fix their broken marriage, so she approached the newcomer at the café and talked about the matter. Marrium has already settled her life in London, but Zeedan still chose to stay in Weatherfield to look after his sister, especially after the stabbing incident. Proving that she can take care of herself, Alya decided to go back to working at Speed Daal. Howbeit, Zeedan made up his mind and chose to just stay in the cobbles.

It seems like the man has a change of heart when he kisses Marrium during his sister’s birthday dinner. Moreover, in the next episode of “Coronation Street,” Alya waves goodbye to Zeedan as he makes his way to London. Following the character’s leaving scene, the avid viewers thought that Zeedan would permanently move out from the cobbles. However, according to Metro.co.uk, the beloved character would continue to appear in the ITV soap.

Meanwhile, in the online world, Qasim Akhtar shared his faith on his social media account. In his latest post, the actor went to New Metro City Sarai Alamgir and showed its beautiful architecture. He captioned the post: “I used to go into mosques and feel nothing. Now, every time I step inside one, I feel something only my heart could tell you if it could speak.”
