Viewers know that Aaron Sandford (James Craven) has been suffering abuse from his father, Eric. He goes to Billy’s house to take refuge and avoid his father’s outburst. But he’ll get news from the police that his father has been admitted to the hospital after a fire broke out in their house.

Aaron rushes to the hospital just in time when his father regains consciousness. Eric then tells his son that he wishes he didn’t survive the fire. Aaron starts to blame himself for the incident. He felt that he shouldn’t have ignored his father’s messages and he should have gone home to check on him.

Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is set to cause more problems for Wendy Papadopoulos (Roberta Kerr) and Ken Barlow (William Roache) after she finds out that the pair is now an item. Ken and Wendy attend a book launch at the Bistro. It’s Wendy’s gift to Ken for his birthday. Later, Tracy crashes the book launch and openly voices her disapproval of their relationship.

Tracy apologizes to Ken for her outbursts on his birthday and even offers to cook lunch for him and Wendy. The pair feels happy that Tracy is finally starting to accept them as a couple. But what they don’t know is that she’s got something up her sleeve. She prepares Deirdre’s (Anne Kirkbride) specialty and serves it up to the couple.
