Coronation Street is bringing back a star who has not been gone for too long—Louis Emerick is returning to the soap as Mike Thornberry, the ex-lover of Liz McDonald.
According to Digital Spy, Mike will be back on screen this November to deal with an unfinished business with Liz. The cheeky cab driver, who was a fan favorite, left Weatherfield in June after Street Car owner Steve fired him. He also found out Liz and Johnny Connor had an affair.
Emerick revealed his exit last April as his three-month contract ended, but with the popularity of his character among fans, it is not surprising that he is able to come back.
Emerick first appeared in “Coronation Street” 32 years ago. He helped deliver furniture to the Rovers Return after it burned down. He revealed that he auditioned for a few more roles in the past, including Tony and Freddie. He got pretty close but was not able to make it, so he kind of given up the thought of returning to “Coronation Street.”
Meanwhile, “Coronation Street” spoilers reveal that Peter Barlow will be shot next week. This incident will reignite the feud between Leanne Battersby and Carla Connor. Leanne and Carla have a complicated history, thanks to their relationships with Nick Tilsley and Peter. But according to Digital Spy, their civil relationship they have recently is not going to last.

The main issue involves Simon, who has been intimidated by Tyler Jefferies and his friends so he would not testify against Tyler. Carla was supposed to keep an eye on Simon at the factory, but she got distracted, and Tyler got a chance to issue threats.
When Peter returns to the scene, things have gotten worse, and Tyler points a gun at him through a car window. At the height of her emotions, Leanne will hold Carla accountable for putting Simon’s life at risk.
“Coronation Street” airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on ITV.
