Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that the iconic villain, Stephen Reid, steps away from Weatherfield as his crimes float to the surface.

In the previous episodes of the longest-running soap, Stephen was a bag of nerves when the investigation for Rufus’ death went further.

It all started when Lou brought a bag of the late businessman’s things and showed Stephen the tie-pin which didn’t belong to her husband.

When the widow planned to bring the thing to the authorities, Stephen was left stunned as he recognized the object as his own.

Moreover, the villain ended up disappointing Carla and Peter after he betrayed the latter. It began when he overheard the man talking to a pawnbroker and asking him to hand him a watch back.

Peter was also covered with fear after Lou announced that Rufus lost his watch and planned to include it in the investigation. He once found the missing object in his cab, but he pawned it to support Carla in her rehab.

Little did he know, Stephen was in the corner listening to everything he said. He then later got all the information when Peter came clean to him after he asked about the matter.

Though he vowed to never tell a soul about Peter’s little secret, Stephen betrayed the man and told Lou about the missing watch. As a result, the woman angrily confronted Carla and Peter and demanded to pay her.
