Fans may recall that Stephen’s financial troubles led him to manipulate Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) into giving him all her money. Things worsen when he kills Leo Thompkins (Joe Forst) by pushing him off the factory roof. Now, his eyes are hooked on Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox), Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) mother. He became interested in her after learning that she had a huge amount of home equity. He can’t help himself but wonders what he can do with her money.

Meanwhile, Tim notices that Elaine and Stephen are getting closer together. He warns her about him, but Elaine defends Stephen and says he’s not like other guys, much less her ex-husband Geoff.

Stephen lies to Elaine and says that Gabrielle sent him a threatening message. His plot works, and Elaine tries to comfort him. She also shares about Geoff and promises Stephen that she’ll never leave him. Will Tim or Elaine uncover what he’s up to?
