Coronation Street: Will Mellor Teases Harvey Gaskell Return Twists

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Will Mellor opens up about the twist in his character’s storyline. The actor’s alter ego, Harvey Gaskell will return next week as he meets Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) once again.

Fans know that Sam has been doing all he can to convince Nick and Leanne to let him visit Harvey in prison. He’ll finally get his wish next week as he meets the man who killed his mum, Natasha Blakeman, face to face.

Mellor revealed that his character would pretend that he didn’t read Sam’s letters but he knows for a fact that some of what the kid said has stuck a nerve. The actor said that Harvey feels like he’s talking to a psychiatrist when he’s with Sam. The latter can dare talk to him in a way that nobody can.

He feels like he owes it to Sam to talk to him, especially since he killed his mother. At first, he wants to stop getting Sam’s letter because it’s making him look at himself, which for him, is a sign of weakness, and that’s something that you can’t afford to have when you’re in prison.

When Sam starts to ask questions about his personal life and concludes that perhaps, he is what he is now because of his past, Harvey “starts to crack under pressure.” Harvey snaps and tells Sam to never visit him again in prison.

“He’s angry because he’s woken up all the emotions that Harvey’s buried deep about his own mum who he lost when he was younger. He’s still angry, but he’s buried these emotions because they make him weak,” Mellor shared.

Sam thinks that the death of Harvey’s mum became the catalyst that led him to live the life that he has today. Mellor explained that perhaps Harvey just wanted to be loved, be taken care of, and get some attention. He had no one, so Harvey ended up with the wrong crowd. He was groomed at an early age, so he ended up being one of those bad guys on the street

Harvey may have told Sam never to return during their first meeting, but spoilers hint that Harvey wants to meet the young kid again. Fans will have to wait and see what happens next. Mellor hinted that Harvey would show a few cracks, and it’s all because of Sam.
