Coronation Street’s Spider Nugent Steps Out From Weatherfield

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Spider Nugent made his way out from the cobbles following his dangerous scene with Toyah Battersby.

Toyah ended up in the woman’s hands when she welcomed her into their apartment after claiming that she was Spider’s ex-wife. The kidnapper happened to be someone from Spider’s previous job – the wife of a man who ended up dead.

Her appearance in the cobbles was an act of revenge as she kidnapped Toyah to let the police undercover feel the way she felt before.

Though Spider explained that he has to destroy her drug dealer husband, the woman was still devoured with anger.

As she was at the peak of madness, her gun went off. Fortunately, Spider protected himself with a bulletproof vest and immediately called DS Swain for backup.

He then comforted his fiancée who thought he was dead after the shot. Back in their apartment, Toyah expressed her fear over the recent traumatic experience.

As a result, she gave her beau an ultimatum – if he cannot let go of his job, they will put an end to their relationship. When she looked straight into the man’s eyes, his look of hesitance pushed her to finally call it quits.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Martin Hancock Shares His Thoughts About Toyah and Spider’s Relationship

During his latest interview with Digital Spy, Martin Hancock voiced his mind about his character’s relationship with Toyah.

He stated that their character’s painful experiences have led them to split as they have already found things difficult to handle. Despite their sad breakup, Hancock believed that the two still got tons of love for each other.

When asked if Spider chose his career over love, the actor answered: “I don’t think Spider put his career before Toyah. He actually put Toyah before his career, but his career has dragged him back.”

He also stated that Spider’s exit is not yet the end of the story as he believed that his character has “unfinished business” in the cobbles.

Moreover, the 54-year-old actor also expressed his joy in being part of the extremism story as it gave awareness to the audience. “The rise of extremism is frightening. It’s so subtle sometimes, with the way that it works and gets into young people’s minds. It’s horrible and it will destroy society if we don’t address it, so I’m immensely proud of that storyline,” he uttered.
