Nancy Pelosi Graces G7 Speakers’ Conference, Visits Coronation Street

Coronation Street spoilers and updates tease Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, has graced the G7 Speakers’ Conference and visited the set of the ITV soap in Trafford, Greater Manchester with other G7 speakers.
North West MP Sir Lindsay Hoyle, speaker of the House of Commons, who’s a fan of the long-running soap arranged the visit which allowed Mrs. Pelosi alongside other VIPs Richard Ferrand, the President of the French National Assembly and Roberto Fico, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and representatives from Germany, Japan, Canada, and the European Union, ITV reports.
During the weekend’s summit, the speakers have gathered at Sir Lindsay’s home constituency of Chorley, in Lancashire, to discuss security issues in parliament and last Sunday they have joined Corrie writers, producers, and cast members, involved in the central ongoing hate crime storyline inspired by the real murder story of Sophie Lancaster in Lancashire in 2007, to the set in Manchester.

The illustrious guests were welcomed by the ITV Chairman Sir Peter Bazalgette and Coronation Street Executive Producer Iain MacLeod upon their arrival in Weatherfield.
They have talked about the power and influence of television in democracy in a panel discussion joined by actors Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina Lucas, and David Neilson, who plays her on-screen uncle Roy Cropper.
The actress Gallager has recently bagged a National Television Award for serial drama performance which saw her goth character surviving the fatal attack but left her on-screen boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) dead after attaining severe injuries.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle Speaks On How Corrie And Similar Shows Influence People’s Lives
Sir Lindsay expressed his gratitude for being invited to the set and called it an “absolute privilege” to be able to discuss “real storylines that affect people.”
In his interview with the PA news agency, he pointed out that “Coronation Street” and similar programs can influence global viewers with the real storylines they show.

“So when we send out that message from this street, we know that others will learn from it and that’s why today has been so important and that’s why that storyline is so, so important,” Sir Lindsay Hoyle said, documented by the Daily Mail.
He continued by expressing his hope of having a better country and encouraged people to continue to call out hate and explained that people’s intolerance and lack of respect are not acceptable. He told everyone to stand firm and stand together to make sure that similar storylines such as the gang attack do not happen in real life.
The ongoing storyline saw evil Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) escaped justice but will be hunted down by Seb’s mother Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) in the following weeks.
