50 Cent Says Eminem Rejected $9M Offer To Co-Perform At The 2022 World Cup

The “Window Shopper” artist 50 Cent would have been a million dollars richer had it not been for “The Real Slim Shady” rapper Eminem turning down an offer of a joint performance at the 2022 World Cup hosted in Qatar.

After Eminem’s incredible performance at the Super Bowl, the 50-year-old rapper was offered a whopping sum of $9 Milion for a joint performance with 50 Cent at the 2022 World Cup.

50 Cent — 50 Cent Would Have Given Eminem The Lion’s Share

In an appearance at Real “92.3’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood” show, 50 Cent whose real name is Curtis Jackson III shared how he was asked to make a joint performance with the “Not Afraid” rapper, but was disappointed when Eminem turned down the offer and cost him a million dollars.

50 Cent revealed that the offer was laid down after their performance at Super Bowl. The “21 Questions” rapper who appeared at the Super Bowl halftime show with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson Paak said, “Because of the Super Bowl, I got an inquiry about World Cup and they had a budget of $9 million.”

50 Cent went on to reveal that had Eminem taken up the offer, he would have given Eminen the lion’s share, “I would’ve taken one [million] and then the other eight [million] would have been for him.”

The “In Da Club” rapper went on to share that he met with Eminem’s rep and was told Eminem would decline, “They’re like, ‘He’s not gonna do it.’ If you would do a one-off show, maybe you would do the biggest live sporting event in the world.”

After the turn down by Eminem, the offer was taken by Jung Kook of BTS, Black Eyed Peas, and J Balvin.

Although the reason behind Eminem’s rejection is unknown, there were controversies surrounding the host of the 2022 World Cup Qatar, with regards to not fulfilling their initial promise upon winning the right to host the game.

Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy said in an interview with CNN that the 2022 World Cup would “be an inclusive, safe tournament” where “everyone is welcome, regardless of race, background, religion, gender, orientation or nationality.”

The issues began after reports of unappreciated discrimination against women and the LGBTQ+ community. Another issue was the reported deaths of 37 migrant workers who died while helping in the construction of the stadiums where the games took place.

The controversy with Qatar was too big that former football player David Beckham came under fire for signing to be an ambassador for Qatar World Cup.
