Al Pacino Reveals Unique Way He Communicates With Youngest Son Roman Who He Doesn’t Live With

Al Pacino may be an old dad, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a cool one. In his latest interview, “The Scarface” star talked about co-parenting his baby son with ex Noor Alfallah and how he gets around not physically being with him.

In a new interview with The BBC on his autobiography ‘Sonny Boy,’ the 84-year-old veteran actor revealed that he has found other ways to interact with his baby son now that they don’t live together.

“He does text me from time to time,” Pacino said, referring to his last born child, Roman.

“You know, I have this little person. Everything he does is interesting to me,” Pacino revealed. “So we talk. I play the harmonica with him and we have made this kind of contact. So it’s fun.”

He further credits his youngest son for making him put pen to paper to write the story of his life.

Pacino previously revealed that writing a memoir was not something he thought he’d do, but eventually saw the necessity to leave a book that will give his youngest an idea of who he is when he was alive after welcoming him.

Despite this, he confessed that he still wishes to live for a few more years so that his son will get to know him properly. “Well now I want to be around for this child. Of course I do,” Pacino said. “But things happen. I hope I am. I hope I stay healthy and he knows who his dad is.”

Why Al Pacino Wants His Youngest Son To Watch Adam Sandler’s ‘Jack and Jill’

In a previous interview with the New York Times, Pacino was asked which of his many movies he would like his son to start off with when it comes to seeing his father’s acting chops.

Surprisingly, Pacino neglected to recommend ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Dog Day Afternoon,’ opting for a film where he only made a brief appearance. “I think he should start off with Adam Sandler’s,” he said of the 2011 comedy ‘Jack and Jill,’ which saw him make a cameo appearance in the form of a Dunkin Donuts commercial.

“I think that’s funny. It came at a time in my life that I needed it, because it was after I found out I had no more money,” Pacino recalled. “My accountant was in prison, and I needed something quickly. So I took this.”

“There’s this thing I do in that film: They got me doing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial. You know how many people think I actually made that commercial? I mean it’s just so unfair,” he continued.
Pacino welcomed Roman in June 2023 with then-girlfriend Noor Alfallah.
