Amber Heard Tries To Dodge Legal Debt, Hires Another Lawyer!Johnny Depp and Amber Heard news reveals that Amber Heard has hired a new attorney in an attempt to force two insurance firms to foot the legal bill for her libel loss to Depp. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard New – The Bills Are Stacking

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard news reveals that though Heard was ordered by the judge to pay more than $10 million to her ex – Depp, she’s now trying to skip the check on her legal fees, reports Daily Mail After a jury agreed that Heard defamed Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp in a Washington Post op-ed published in 2018, the 36-year-old Aquaman star was ordered by the judge to fork over the $10 million.

Though she is currently represented by David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown as she appeals that verdict, the actress has also hired Kirk Pasich to attempt to get multiple insurance companies to cover her legal bills, which could, by now, surpass $15 million, reports Puck News.

According to Puck, Heard’s expenses have surpassed $8 million before her Virginia libel suit had even begun. Now Heard’s legal team is trying to get homeowner’s insurance to foot that bill.

The Long Road Here

To freshen memories, Depp sued Heard for defamation in 2019, two years after the pair had divorced, over a Washington Post article she wrote identifying herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

It reportedly took three years for the case to reach a courtroom during which time Heard burned through numerous legal teams. First, there was Eric George, known for representing such high-profile characters as Mel Gibson and Kim Kardashian, but evidently ended up not being what Heard needed.

Next, there was Roberta Kaplan who championed same-sex marriage at the Supreme Court and co-founded Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund. Her involvement reportedly suggests Heard’s defense could become pro-feminist in nature, but she too was gone following but a few pretrial losses.

Will Insurance Pay?

Ultimately, Heard settled on Elaine Bredehoft for her defense who reportedly came with a questionable strategy. Of course, there is still much context missing from what we do know. What is known, and notable, is that Heard’s legal bill has grown exponentially, and she’s not earning. We know that homeowners’ insurance is known to pay certain legal expenses – to a point.

With Amber’s legal expense being what it is, it’s a bit shocking to note that she has brought on still more lawyers. Time will tell, yet again, if Heard will succeed this time and leave her insurance companies holding that very hefty bag.
