Angelina Jolie Convinced Brad Pitt Is Seeking Special Treatment In Court

You may need to sit down for this one. Okay, you know how for years now Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been locked in a fierce custody battle and then everybody thought in June that it was almost coming to a reasonable conclusion? Well yeah, that’s not the story I’m telling today.

You already know that Judge John Ouderkirk gave the ruling for Brad Pitt to get to spend more time with his five minor children; Angelina Jolie’s team got rid of Ouderkirk and overturned his ruling; Brad Pitt’s team tried to reverse it; this was said and that was said and well, the custody battle continues.

According to a report by Page Six, Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of trying to use his celebrity status to win special treatment in their long-running custody case.

Recent Court Documents in Jolie and Pitt’s Legal Battle Prove that Jolie’s Team Believes Pitt’s Team up to Foul Play

On Monday, Pitt’s attorneys launched a bid to overturn a decision to dismiss the judge overseeing the custody fight.

Jolie’s team moved to stop them and in court papers obtained by Page Six, they stated: “This sort of gamesmanship, a last-ditch effort by a celebrity litigant seeking special treatment, is not what this Court’s limited review resources are for.”

“There is nothing to see or review here. There is no issue meeting this Court’s rigorous standards for, or worthy of, review,” they added.

Angelina Jolie – Brad Pitt Awarded Joint Custody

When Pitt was awarded joint custody of their five minor children – Maddox, 20, is no longer part of the custody case – Jolie vowed to fight the ruling.

At the time, the ‘Maleficent” actress claimed that three of her children were willing to testify in court but were blocked from doing so by John Ouderkirk. Ouderkirk was the private judge working on the ex couple’s case. He also officiated their wedding in 2014.

Not long after Ouderkirk’s ruling, Jolie was able to overturn the case and remove Ouderkirk by appealing that the judge has had former dealings with Pitt’s attorneys which he did not disclose.

When Brad’s team moved to counteract it, Jolie’s team was firm in stating that Ouderkirk violated the clear mandate of the Code of Judicial Ethics.

“There is no serious question that a privately compensated judge who, without full disclosure, has secured a favorable repeat customer relationship with one litigant’s counsel must be disqualified,” the filing read.

Brad Pitt Files to Officially Stop Angelina Jolie From Selling Her Share of Their Famous French Estate

The ex couple are not only grappling with each other over child custody, there are also property suits involved. Recently, Jolie filed to be allowed to sell her own share of Château Miraval, which would bring her a step closer to cutting all business alliances with her former husband Pitt.

Pitt, on the other hand, launched legal action against Jolie in Luxembourg to stop her from selling her shares of the French estate.

According to the actress’ attorney, “the parties’ divorce altered the parties’ ability to work together as business partners.”
