According to Page Six, fans are more than just impressed with Ben’s multilingual skills. The actor is currently promoting his movie, Air, which is about Michael Jordan’s relationship with Nike.

During his sit down interview with a Spain-based radio station, Ben said in almost perfect Spanish: “What’s important to understand is that this isn’t about Michael Jordan’s story; he doesn’t even appear in the movie. They would immediately think, ‘This is all bulls–t. This movie is bulls–t. I don’t believe any of this. And they would destroy it completely.”

Of course, many fans commented on Ben Affleck’s Spanish with, “He speaks Spanish very well! Even better than his wife Jennifer Lopez and she is Latina. Heck, I am Mexican and he speaks better Spanish than I do,” along with, “When Ben Affleck speaks Spanish, he also immersed himself in the culture. You can see it in the jokes, choice of words and mannerisms.”

Another fan wrote, “You can’t help but wonder if Jennifer Lopez might be feeling embarrassed that Ben Affleck’s Spanish is way better than her’s. And she’s the one who grew up in a Spanish-speaking household.”

Ben also said he doesn’t want people to think that this movie is a story just about Michael Jordan, as it’s more than just that.

He said, “Jordan is — he’s a hero to me. I know how important and meaningful a figure he is, in particular in the African American community. If you’re going to fuck around with talking about Michael Jordan, do it respectfully. This is an optimistic, hopeful movie about people. So I can’t hide behind being an auteur – [as if to say] ‘you don’t need to understand my movie.’ I really hope you like it … So no pressure, but it’s all on you.”
