Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s new thriller will have Jon Watts, who is famed for directing the last three Spider-Man movies, as its writer, director and producer.

Along with the involvement of their respective production labels, long-time pals and American actors Brad Pitt and George Clooney will star in the movie.

This is certainly not the first time that Pitt and Clooney will be sharing screen time together – if it’ll be the last still remains to be seen. The two friends starred together in the blockbuster movie “Ocean’s Eleven” and co-starred in the 2012 drama “8”. The pair also appeared together in the 2008 comedy crime film “Burn After Reading”.

While details about the project are still mostly under wraps, it has been confirmed that Pitt, 57, and Clooney, 60, will star in the thriller as lone wolf fixers assigned to handle the same job. They will also be producing the movie under their own labels: George’s Smokehouse Pictures and Brad’s Plan B Entertainment.

Reportedly, after one of the “biggest bidding wars of the year” involving big production houses and streamers like Sony, Lionsgate, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Annapurna, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros., the film landed at Apple. The upcoming project will pay Pitt and Clooney, who are both among Hollywood’s most recognizable faces, more than $20 million.

On the other hand, Watts is also expected to see a high career payout and could possibly enjoy more creative freedom on the project. The filmmaker has directed the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland, with the highly anticipated “Spider-Man: No Way Home” dropping this December.

While Apple reportedly put down a lot of money to be able to snatch the deal, it is nevertheless a lucrative one as audiences are always happy to see Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s remarkable onscreen chemistry.
