Brad Pitt Moves To California Castle On Cliff Permanently!

Brad Pitt, his now ex-wife Angelina Jolie, and their six children used to live in Los Feliz, California. But in the wake of their split, Pitt has taken his time in finding his own new permanent home. And now the actor found his castle on a hill. 

Rather than stay close to Hollywood, Pitt bought his new residence in a secluded area of California. And instead of a traditional home, Brad chose a castle on a cliff with an intriguing background. Brad Pitt Moves – Into Historic Castle Overlooking Ocean

The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor surprised real estate watchers by buying the California property last year. Pitt spent more than $40 million for the historic castle that overlooks the Pacific Ocean on the Central Coast.

And since selling his Los Angeles estate in the Hollywood Hills, Brad plans to move permanently to the quieter home called Seaward, according to SF Gate.

Pitt’s new residence possesses an intriguing history. Architect Charles Greene built the sandstone Mediterranean castle overlooking the bluffs in the Carmel Highlands a century ago. And he sought to create it based on Tintagel in Cornwall, England. Legend claims that is the medieval fortress where King Arthur was conceived.

Greene built the castle for Kansas City businessman D.L. James, whose son later resided there. A controversial writer, Daniel Lewis James covered Chicano culture in Los Angeles. However, he hid his identity, receiving criticism subsequently for using a pseudonym Danny Santiago. The owner prior to Brad was Chicago financier Joe Ritchie, who died last year.

Several elements makes Pitt’s new home noteworthy. And architecture critic Randell Makinson summed up Brad’s castle as “a monument unique in this country.”

Because builders created the dwelling from granite and sandstone quarried from the cliffs there, Makinson noted, “The stone structure seems to have grown out of its site atop the rocky cliffs south of Carmel. At places it is difficult to ascertain just where nature’s rock has ended and man’s masonry genius has begun.”

Brad has shared his affection for historic buildings. And he summed up the difference in his views on acting versus architecture. “Whilst acting is my career, architecture is my passion,” shared Pitt. However, he apparently no longer feels any passion for his Los Feliz compound. Just sold, the compound served for years as the family house for Brad, his ex-wife Angelina Jolie and their six children. And the compound possessed its own historical note: Cassandra Peterson, known as Elvira, previously owned it.
