What happened to Brian? Brian Austin went MIA on social media for over a month now, but, he’s back, and with a reason too.
With his return to social media, Brian took to Instagram to explain his immense absence, revealing that he was bedridden with “Ulcerative colitis,” the sickness took him six weeks and a half to recover. In the video he made, he said “disappeared from Instagram for a while.”
“I had ulcerative colitis for about six, six and a half weeks, which wasn’t very fun,” Green explained.
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the large intestine. People with ulcerative colitis usually experience periods of heightened symptoms followed by periods of remission, with few to no symptoms, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It’s considered one of the “invisible illnesses” because strangers can’t see your symptoms.
Brian Austin’s News – Sickness, Bad Timing?
The 90210 alum took to his Instagram to explain that the appearance of the sickness was “Horrible Timing” because his girlfriend Sharna Burgess is six months pregnant with their child. While his sickness was a very terrible experience, Sharna still took care of him, with his other children.
In his video, Brian said “Sharna was amazing. Six, seven months pregnant, taking care of my three young kids because I was pretty bedridden for a while,” he said. “Taking care of me, not complaining, being amazing.”
Brian also thanked his girlfriend for her support “I am super thankful to have someone like her in my life,” he said. “But I’m back now I’m feeling good. It was a terrible experience I’m glad it’s over.”
The actor also shared a loving caption on his Instagram post: “Again, I’m a lucky man. @sharnaburgess I love you ❤️.”
Sharna’s unborn baby will be Brian’s fifth child as he already shares sons; Journey, 5, Bodhi, 7, and Noah, 9, with estranged wife Megan Fox, and Kassius, 19, with ex and 90210 co-star Vanessa Marcil.
Brian announced Sharna’s pregnancy in February with a maternity photo shoot in Hawaii, showing off the baby bump on the beach. The caption reads “We want to thank people for the amazingly kind well wishes ❤ we are really excited to be welcoming a baby boy on or around the 4th of July :)) @sharnaburgess, I cannot wait to see you hold your/our baby ❤😊😊.”

The condition can develop at any point in your life, but it’s most common in people between the ages of 15 and 30. Symptoms vary but often include “diarrhea, passing blood with your stool, and abdominal pain,” per NIH.
Treatment typically includes medicines to reduce inflammation and induce remission.
