Brian Cox Feels Sorry For Amber Heard In Wake Of Johnny Depp TrialBrian Cox is weighing in on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial and says he “feels sorry” for Heard. Continue reading and we’ll give you the low down.

Brian Cox – The Public Love Him

In a recent interview, the “Succession” star spoke briefly about the estranged couple. Cox said he “feels sorry” for Amber Heard regarding her highly publicized defamation lawsuit brought against her by ex-husband Johnny Depp, per Newsweek.

When asked by The Times about Depp, Cox said he regretted once calling the Pirates of the Caribbean star “overrated.” He added that “the public love him.”

Brian Cox – I Feel Sorry For Her

According to Independent UK, when the interviewer addressed the jury in the Depp/Heard trial, suggesting that they too love Depp, Cox concurred, saying, “Well, they did.” He then turned to Heard saying, “I feel sorry for [Heard]. I think she got the rough end of it.”

Depp won his defamation suit earlier this year against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp sued Heard for $50 million over a Washington Post op-ed she wrote titled, “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced out culture’s wrath. That has to change.”

Depp sued Heard for $50m (£39.8m) over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” Though the article does not implicate Depp by name, his lawyers claimed it falsely implied that he physically and sexually abused Heard while they were a couple.

Brian Cox – He Said, She Said

Heard Countersued her ex-husband for waging a “smear campaign” against her. She described the lawsuit against her as a continuation of “abuse and harassment.” Her suit was to the tune of $100 million.

In June of this year, the jury found that Heard had indeed defamed Depp in all three cases and awarded him $10 million in compensatory damages as well as $5 million in punitive damages. For her case, Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages. No punitive damages were awarded.

Brian Cox – Keep It Royalist

Cox is best known for his portrayal of Logan Roy in the Grammy-winning series Succession. Cox was almost dragged into some Royal Family defamation himself Monday at the Emmys when he reined in Succession creator Jesse Armstrong for taking a jab at King Charles III.

Armstrong, a Brit himself, accepted his award and thanked those that voted for him but then added that no one had voted for Charles to become King. That’s when fellow Brit, Cox advised, “Keep it royalist. Keep it royalist.” Be sure to follow Johhny Depp and Amber Heard stories as well as others by returning here often for more spoilers, news, and updates.
