Feels weird to say we’re in 2024 isn’t it? Well, I guess I’ll get used to it in a week or two. Being in 2024 also means that we will soon get new music from Britney Spears, the first in 8 years. In case you’re wondering, that mash from Will.i.am doesn’t count.

Britney Spears is free from her choking conservatorship and partially free from the traumas of the past – sources say penning her memoir “The Woman In Me” was cathartic – so why won’t she give us brand new music?

Actually, she’s planning on doing so, and she’s recruited one of the biggest Brit popstars to help her. This UK singer-songwriter has already penned hits for the likes of Selena Gomez and Gwen Stefani. Can you still not guess who? It’s Charli XCX!

Charli XCX will likely be in a lot of pressure to write great songs that will return one of the biggest popstars of the 2000s to the charts once more.

While the two are yet to meet, an insider revealed that Britney has already given pointers on what she would want the album to be.

A music insider said: “The Britney album is being kept top secret. Work has been going on behind the scenes for quite a while to gather a series of killer songs to bring Britney back with a bang. She is known as one of the biggest pop stars of the 21st century so there is pressure for the music to be great.”

The source added: “Charli has a great track record when it comes to writing clever pop songs. She went into the studio earlier in the year [2023, that is] to make some songs using Britney’s guidance of what she is after.”

“She came up with a really strong track that is expected to make it on to the album, which Britney’s team hope will be out in 2024.”

While Britney’s fans might not be defined like the Swifties, the ARMY, Selenators, Arianators, Beliebers, Rihanna’s Navy, but they’re there. And it’s only a matter of time until we see them in action, loving and sharing Britney’s music.

This year also happens to be the 25th anniversary of her debut album’s release, so no doubt there’ll be a lot of musical offerings from the pop princess.
