The world heard how former American football player and actor O.J. Simpson passed away on April 10, 2024, at age 76. As expected, the news of his demise was met with mixed feelings.
While some were unhappy with his death (he died of cancer), the majority couldn’t hide their gladness that he had finally left this world, especially because he was not found guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman.
Among those who couldn’t be happier with his death includes Caitlyn Jenner who has never hidden the fact that she believes Simpson to be the murderer of Brown and Goldman.
While several stars sent their condolences to Simpson’s family, Jenner simply took to the X platform formerly known as Twitter on April 11, to tweet, “Good Riddance.”
Jenner’s reaction to Simpson’s death didn’t sit well with the majority of her followers as they attacked her post by bringing up a 2015 fatal car accident she was involved in which claimed the life of one of its victims at the spot.
Her followers chose to see the accident as Jenner committing murder and that she had no right to call Simpson a murderer when she also committed murder.
Someone slammed, “I’m sure the family of that person you ran over, can’t WAIT to say the same about you!” And another snapped, “Not the pot calling the kettle black ” with a finger-pointing emoji and a laughing emoji. A third added, “Sir, you murdered someone with your car. “
Caitlyn Jenner — Caitlyn’s Reaction To The Outrageous Comparison
The following day April 12, Jenner responded to those comments that compared her 2015 car accident to Simpson’s 1994 murder case with a swift message on X “I know you all think it’s cute to compare a fatal car accident (with multiple vehicles involved) to a BRUTAL MURDER… But Remember…OJ said something to the effect of…
I could kill her (Nicole) and get away with it bc I’m #OJSimpson.”
Although there were no criminal charges against Jenner, she later settled with Jessica Steindorff who was one of the drivers of the four cars involved in the accident, and the family of Kim Howe the woman who lost her life through the accident.
“We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing,” Caitlyn’s attorney Blair Berk previously told ABC News. “We are heartened the District Attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanor charge would be inappropriate. A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter.”
Caitlyn’s April 12 response didn’t set things right as fans still took to the comments section to slam her. An angry fan commented, “YOU still were the CAUSE of the accident and YOU were the CAUSE of someone’s DEATH AND paid your way out of it. No THAT isn’t cute at all. Hypocrite. Never did like you as Caitlyn.”
Another wrote, “YOU still were the CAUSE of the accident and YOU were the CAUSE of somebody’s DEATH AND paid your way out of it.” And a third “You are both awful. Glad we could settle that.” While a fourth added, “Calm down killer. It’s not a contest. We know you killed someone, it’s just speculation with juice.”
