Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s Son Robert Makes His Hosting Debut On Major TV Show

Steven Irwin’s son, Robert Irwin, has crammed a lifetime of achievement into his 20 years. While he began his career much younger than many of us, he’s also managed to grow in it and even add more credits to his accomplishment belt.

Already a well-known conservationist, zookeeper, and wildlife photographer, he’s decided to add the brand new title of TV host to the list.

Robert Irwin has been tapped to join Julia Morris to host the upcoming season of Australia’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” His time on the show comes shortly after Dr Chris Brown exited it.

Irwin’s involvement in the show was first teased in October, with a promo for the show’s 10th season coming in late January. In the hilarious clip, Morris was on the phone calling out qualities she would like in a new co-host.

Immediately she touched on wildlife expert, Irwing swung into frame, saying, “Did somebody say wildlife expert?” He then began dancing and singing lines like, “Just think of what we could do, remember I was born in Australia Zoo” and “I may be only 20, but I come from Wildlife royalty.” Nothing like honesty and modesty in a guy right?

The clip was captioned, “CRIKEY! MARCH 24… #ImACelebrityAU is BACK IN AFRICA, with new co-host, Robert Irwin, joining our beloved Julia Morris!”

Robert Irwin Reflects On His First Stint On “I’m A Celebrity” At Age 12

It may be important that you know that this is not Irwin’s first time on the show – who knows? the knowledge may help you win an argument every once in a while.

Anyway, at age 12, he appeared as a guest on the 2016 edition of the show alongside his mom, Terri Irwin, and big sister, Bindi Irwin.

Ahead of Channel 10’s Upfronts, Irwin shared his excitement to get to host “I’m A Celebrity.”

“I was knee-high to a grasshopper and had the bowl cut,” Irwin recalled of his first stint on the show. “This just feels like it was meant to be. I loved so much getting to do that show. I remember just being so in awe, getting on that set, seeing the massive crew, the incredible energy that particularly Julia brought to that shoot.

Since then, I became a massive fan of the show and watch it every season so to be able to have this opportunity is wonderful. Above all, getting to actually be on this new chapter with Julia is going to be an unforgettable experience … it is pretty massive.”

He added that “it is actually a dream come true for me. I never thought something like this would be a reality. I just cannot wait to take this on, it is my first time getting to sink my teeth into something like this.”
