But now, after Depp won his defamation trial against Amber Heard, reports have soared that Disney wants to lure back Johnny for a new “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movie. Get the latest on those reports. And see just how much the company supposedly will pay (plus a gift basket!) below.
Disney Offers Johnny Depp MILLIONS… And A Gift Basket?!
Money, an apology, and a gift basket? As a result of Disney’s alleged desire to win back Johnny Depp, those three items supposedly went out to the actor who portrayed Captain Jack Sparrow. And the money offer seems open-ended, according to an insider quoted by Geo TV.
That source claimed Disney has prepped a $301 million contract. And with an apology, the company allegedly asked Depp to return for the next “Pirates Of The Caribbean” film. But the insider also clarified that the actor’s response to the company’s plea remains unknown. However, a gift basket supposedly went out as an attempt to show the sincerity of the apology (ahem).
The insider claimed that Disney feels “very interested in patching up its relationship with Johnny Depp.” And the source shared that the company even “sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter.” But the insider admitted no knowledge of how Depp felt about that apology and gift basket.
However, the source also alleged that Disney has drafted a Jack Sparrow film script. As a result, the company feels “very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character,” added the insider. The deal allegedly consists of $301 million with a “a sizable donation to a charity of Depp’s choice.” In exchange for the money, Depp would “return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a spin-off Disney Plus series about the early life of the Captain of The Black Pearl,” shared the source.
Johnny Depp – Rumors Soar For ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’!
But fans ready to cheer for Johnny Depp’s return to his Captain Jack Sparrow role may want to hold their applause. Because E News offered a different account of the situation. In response to rumors that Depp and Disney have negotiated a $301 million contract, a spokesperson for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor denied those reports.
“This is made up,” said Depp’s representative bluntly. And that statement seemed to follow previous remarks from producers. Thus far, Johnny portrayed Captain Jack Sparrow in all five pirates films. But the 2017 movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” marks his last. And last month, a producer offered his own statement on the status.
“Pirates Of The Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer reportedly has begun work on two additional movies. And he reacted to a question about Depp’s return. “Not at this point,” stated the producer. “The future is yet to be decided.”
