Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi Celebrate Their Love In Africa

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are marking a special milestone: 20 years together. To celebrate, they took a trip to Africa. Nice photos of wildlife encounters flowed for days, but the most recent one on social media explained their love in a few simple words. 

A Celebration Of Love

Ellen shared a picture of them on Instagram on March 20. It was a sunset photo, showing their silhouettes. The caption said, “20 years together. Happy to be with you everywhere and always.” This simple message and the nice setting seemed to signify a deep love for each other. 

Back in December, they also celebrated their anniversary and Ellen wrote a loving message to Portia on her birthday in early  February this year. Once again, Ellen described her deep affection for her wife, Portia. Certainly, the former talk show host has a relationship that seems enviable. 

Lots Of Changes But Love Endures

Ellen DeGeneres used to have a very popular talk show.  Mostly, The Ellen Show made people smile as she was known for her comedy. Additionally, she seemed very kind and reached out to help those less fortunate than her. But, things changed. After some people said the show had a bad work environment, it ended.

After her show ended, Ellen mostly stayed out of the public eye. However, she did return for her Netflix swansong, where she criticized cancel culture. By then, she’d already relocated to Cotswolds in the UK and they traveled from there to East Africa for their lovely safari. 

The African Connection

Before all the controversy, Ellen was a pioneer, and she came out as gay long before it was widely accepted. Additionally, she and Portia Di Rossi do a lot of work to help save gorillas in Africa. She supports the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and her love for wildlife seemed like the perfect place to be 20 years after the couple hooked up.  

In the comments section of the post, actress Courteney Cox wrote, “Beautiful,” and many others echoed the sentiment. One of them wrote, “Break out the tissues…Our hearts are bursting here,” and another fan said, “One of my favourite celebrity couples, happy 20 years Ellen and Portia.”

However, it wasn’t always bliss between the couple. Plenty of rumors arose in 2016 and 2017 that they fought like cat and dog. In fact, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that The National Enquirer ran a piece by a source who claimed Portia was dating a man.
