Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey just welcomed her first baby to her world. And the famously private actress shared a photo of her infant son on Instagram. Halle’s boyfriend DDG fathered the baby, per People.

And turning to social media, the new mom wrote, “The greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.” But observant fans noticed that the 23-year-old Little Mermaid actress actually revealed her baby’s name in the photo.

And Bailey’s Instagram pic showed her hand holding her baby’s tiny hand with a gold bracelet etched with the name “Halo.” However, the actress also shared the baby’s name in her caption. And she wrote, “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son. Welcome to the world my halo. The world is desperate to know you.”

The actress has dated her boyfriend DDG for more than a year. And Bailey made the romance Instagram official in March 2022. But except for such rare glimpses of her personal life, the singer/actress holds onto her privacy.

For instance, pregnancy rumors caused a fan to ask on social media if Bailey exhibited “pregnancy nose” in a recent pic. And in response, the actress/singer shared, “Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay. You know why? Because I’m Black. I love my nose,” she added. “What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone.”

But in an interview last year, Bailey did admit that she feels DDG represents her real life Prince Charming. And she reflected, “I think the best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else. You’re discovering new parts of yourself,” she added. “And maybe things that you didn’t notice before about your heart.”

However, Halle also revealed that her new experiences with romance have inspired her upcoming solo album. And she pointed out, “You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love,” added the singer about DDG. 

And Bailey added, “This has been a really beautiful transformative time for me. I have all this new material to write about. It’s like, What the heck did I just experience and go through? A whirlwind of amazingness. You never know what you’re capable of until you’re put through it. I was very creatively inspired, and then from there, I fell in love. And so I really just played with those themes in my music.”
