Hugh Grant Is Not A Fan Of ‘Weird’ Movie Sets Now

If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Hugh Grant over the years, it’s that he’s definitely someone who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. And while that might get him into trouble sometimes, the Hollywood actor recently spoke out about the state of movie sets these days. He called them both “weird” and “sad” now and for this reason, too. Here’s what you need to know.

While on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hugh said that one of the reasons why movie sets have changed so much over the years is because no one is socializing anymore like they used to.

Instead, everyone seems to be glued to their phones more than anything else. Hugh said that it’s “weird” because “people are not as close as they used to be.”

The actor put it this way, “Films are so weird now. They are weird because you know, in the old days, by the end of the second week, you were all getting drunk in the evening and having dinner and falling in love with each other and all that. And all that stopped because of telephones. Really everyone goes home and looks at Twitter. It’s so sad.”

When Colbert said that if there were less telephones on set now there would be more affairs, Hugh replied with, “Yeah, I think so.”

What’s Next For Hugh Grant?

You have to love Hugh for his honesty, right? He then continued, “You know, [Quentin] Tarantino bans telephones from sets and quite right too, and the people there, they do all shag each other – or so I’m told.”

That said, Hugh hasn’t been on many movie sets these days because he’s stepped back from Hollywood. But he has been very vocal about his political opinions on Twitter and has also made headlines for appearing to be rather grumpy during red carpet interviews. However, he is starring in the new movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
