Jamie Foxx Reveals ‘Hellish’ Health Scare

Jamie Foxx has broken his silence on his mysterious health issues. And the Oscar-winning actor turned to Instagram as he battled his tears. In his video, Foxx shared why he waited so long to speak out.

Jamie Foxx Discusses His Health

After weeks of troubling rumors, Jamie Foxx has broken his silence to discuss his health. The actor shared that he traveled to “hell and back” amid a “medical complication” that required hospitalization in April.

And on Instagram, the 55-year-old Oscar winner revealed that he never imagined going through such a “hellish” experience. And he also responded to his 16 million followers by directly attacking rumors about his health, noted Page Six.

Foxx tried not to cry as he poured out his emotional feelings about his medical complication. “I went through something I thought I would never ever go through,” admitted the actor. But he also reacted to rumors that he had become paralyzed or blind, denying such claims. And Jamie explained why he stayed silent for such a long time.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update,” admitted the actor. “But to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that man.” And Foxx tearfully explained that he wanted his fans to keep their image of him as a joking, healthy person. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, or a television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

However, the Oscar winner did not name his illness. But Foxx did share that he has begun “the road to recovery.” And he expressed his gratitude to his sister, Deondra Dixon, and daughter, Corinne Foxx, 29, for saving his life. Prior to his Instagram post, Jamie (or someone on his team) did post about “BIG things coming soon” on Twitter without any mention of his medical issues.

However, the actor also expressed his appreciation to his medical team. And he shared, “To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way,” added Foxx. “And y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these. But, I’m coming back, and I am able to work.”

But Jamie also sought to stop the rumors about permanent health problems. And he noted that his eyes work “just fine,” demonstrating that he does not suffer from paralysis. “I just want to say I love everybody and I love all the love that I got,” added the actor.

Jamie Foxx Warns His Fans

Rumors have swirled about Foxx’s health since his daughter Corinne shared her April that her father became ill while working on his upcoming film Back In Action. But in his new video on Instagram, Foxx warned fans that they might see him “burst into tears” with thankfulness in public. “Man, I know they talk about people crying on videos,” admitted Jamie. “But I’m not going to do a take two, it is what is is. If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s just because it’s been tough, man. I was sick, man.”

However, Foxx put the emphasis on his return to health. “But now I got my legs under me, so you’re gonna see me out. Like I said, I want you to remember me for the jokes that I crack and movies that I make — some of them good, some of them ain’t,” added the actor. “And songs that I sing. I am here on Earth because of some great people… and God. I’m on my way back.”
