Jen Shah Has Refused To Sit For An Interview With Andy Cohen — Here’s Why

Jen Shar wants to talk, she really wants to…just not with Andy Cohen or Bravo. On January 9, Andy Cohen shared his plan of wanting to bring in former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shar to his Sirius XM Radio “Andy Cohen Live” for a one-on-one discussion before she heads to jail.

Andy said, “I’m hoping to go talk to Jen this weekend, I’m hopeful that I can do that sit down with her in front of some cameras and deliver that to you, I’m really hoping to do that.”

Jen has come to publicly deny Andy that one-on-one interview he so much hoped to get with her. Of course, she has her reasons for that. Stay with me and you’ll find out why.

Jen Shar — Jen’s Refusal To A One-On-One Interview With Andy

Two years ago, during the filming of RHOSLC season 2, Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were arrested in March 2021 and were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Jen kept pleading not guilty even after Stuart later pled guilty around November 2021. She finally pled guilty in July 2022. While Stuart is yet to be sentenced in March, Jen has been sentenced to 78 months in prison which is 6.5 years. She will be starting her jail time on February 17.

On January 19, Jen made a statement declaring that she would not be having that already anticipated interview with Andy. Jen began her statement with, “On January 6th, I stood before Judge Stein and asked him to see me not as a fictionalized character, but as the real Jen Shah.”

“I am now at a point, legally, emotionally and mentally, where I can answer questions and provide a few unknown details about my case. I want and need to share these critical facts. I owe it to those that love and support me to hear the truth.”

Continuing, she said, “I will not be doing the 1:1 with Andy Cohen and Bravo because of their unwillingness to remove contractual provisions that would allow the network to legally make misrepresentations of me and my story, relating to any and all topics, prior to and during the course of my participation.”

While stating her reasons for declining the interview, Jen explained that her contract with Bravo does not include such one-on-one with Andy therefore she would not be granting it.

“This specific 1:1 was not part of my RHOSLC reality tv contract. I promised myself and my loving family that I would not allow this portion of my life to be sensationalized and inaccurately conveyed.”

Jen went on to acknowledge how her actions have hurt her loved ones. She maintained that she would only speak out on her own terms rather than speak and have the true story misconstrued.

“Too many people have been hurt by my actions and my inability to control my own narrative, I would rather remain silent and wait until I am able to accurately share my story than continue having complete lies and misrepresentations about me smeared across the headlines.”

Jen concluded her statement with, “I intend to speak and you will hear from me. I will share my story and this painful part of my life very soon.”

Meanwhile, Andy Cohen hasn’t said anything about Jen’s statement, yet.
