Jenna Ortega Has Some Changes in Mind for Wednesday Addams In Season 2

As we anticipate the sequel to Netflix’s “Wednesday,” the star of the movie has updated us on some of the things she’ll like to be changed or, if possible, scraped out completely.

Earlier this year, in January 2023, the star of “Wednesday” Jenna Ortega who played the role of Wednesday Addams, revealed in an interview with “Variety” that she has no idea what the next season of the series would be about, for she is only an actor who does what she’s told.

“I have seen nothing and I know nothing. As the actor you’re told what to do. I’m waiting on it! I think they’re just starting to get a writers room together so we’ll see.” However, she recently laid down some ground changes she would want to be implemented in season 2.

Jenna Ortega — Jenna Has Frowned On Wednesday Addams Love Triangle

Jenna has always been vocal about wanting season two to be darker and more spooky than season one. Speaking with “The Tonight Show” on March 9, Jenna said, “We just started getting a writers’ room together and talking about it, I think we want to up the horror aspects a little bit.”

Jenna is also against her character being in a long triangle as we all saw in season one with Tyler (played by Hunter Doohan) and Xavier (played by Percy Hynes White) she’s also not anxious to be besties with her roommate Enid (Emma Myers).

Jenna wants Wednesday to stand alone and solve crimes herself. Speaking of the love triangle, she said, “Get Wednesday out of the romantic situation and just let her be her own individual and fight her own crime.”

Speaking with E! News’ Justin Sylvester and Zuri in an exclusive interview, the actress shared, “I think, me personally, I would love to see the series get a little bit darker.”

In a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast on March 6, Jenna said, “I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down on a set in the way that I had to on Wednesday because it’s so easy to fall into that category, especially with this type of show,”

She continued, “Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle made no sense.”
