During Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer’s get-together for the Friends’ reunion special episode which aired in May, the pair disclosed that they shared a love story outside their on-screen character’s own.

It was surprising for long-time fans of the hit comedy series to hear that the two shared a secret romance story whilst filming Friends, and of course, it immediately gave way to online rumors that their reunion might have reignited their feelings for each other.

David Schwimmer’s Rep Shoots Down Tabloid Relationship Rumors

Despite rumors claiming that the Friends’ costars, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, are romantically involved, a representative recently revealed that the media speculations are indeed entirely false.

Following the report published by the tabloid Closer earlier this week alleging that the two stars were seeing each other, a rep for Schwimmer, 54, set the record straight by making it clear that there is “no truth” to the rumors.

Friends’ Reunion

In May, HBO Max’s Friends’ reunion made fans aware of a very crucial piece of information: Aniston and Schwimmer, who played Rachel Green and Ross Geller on the comedy show, disclosed that they were romantically attracted to each other off-screen and that it was no less complicated as their on-screen romance.

The relationship between the lovebirds Rachel Green and Ross Geller in the popular show was not an easy one, with the pair breaking up and coming together many times. In the reunion special, James Corden asked Aniston and Schwimmer whether they formed a sort of romantic regard for each other even as their characters fell in love with one another over and over again.

Aniston, 52, balked at the question, nominating Schwimmer to tackle it. Schwimmer, on the other hand, wasn’t too shy to admit to having a “major crush” on her.

“At some point, we were crushing hard on each other,” he said. “But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”

Aniston added, “Honestly, I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.’ Sure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”

Sadly enough, they did not act on their feelings, but channeling all those emotions into Ross and Rachel’s love for each other might have made us fonder of the two fictional lovers than we previously had a right to be.

Schwimmer was married to Zoe Buckman – with whom he shares 10-year-old daughter Cleo – from 2010 until their split in 2017.Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 and separated in 2005, later getting married to Justin Theroux after dating for 5 years. The couple later split in 2018 after two years of marriage.

Aniston also stressed that she and Schwimmer never acted on their feelings for one another in an interview she appeared on with former Friends stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in June.

“We were in relationships and it was always never the right time and it wouldn’t have worked,” she said. “The beauty of that was that whatever feelings we had we just literally channeled everything into Ross and Rachel and I think that’s maybe why it resonated the way it did.”

“But no, we never, on my life [got together]. And Courteney and Lisa would know if it did because they would’ve heard about it. They can vouch for me,” she added, and Cox, 57, confirmed that it was “true.”

“I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened,” Aniston joked. “But no.“
