Johnny Depp Announced He’s Releasing A New Album With Jeff Beck

Moving on already, are we?? Hahaha, I must confess, I like his style. Johnny Depp is certainly moving on with his life, trying his hands on a different path, I.e, music, and from all indications, the man aces it every time.

Recently, a rep for Depp revealed that the actor will be releasing a new album next month with guitarist Jeff Beck. Meanwhile, Beck broke the news of the project’s upcoming release date during a June 2 performance with Depp in Gateshead, England, per The Guardian.

“I met this guy five years ago and we’ve never stopped laughing since,” Beck noted. “We actually made an album. I don’t know how it happened. It will be out in July.”

The star of “Murder On Orient Express” made a surprise appearance on stage on Sunday night to perform alongside Jeff Beck at a gig in Sheffield. According to stunned onlookers, Depp sang his cover of Isolation, which was originally a John Lennon song and was released by the star and Beck in 2020.

Taking to Twitter to share a clip of the performance, one user wrote: “Just been to see Jeff Beck at Sheffield City Hall, he had a surprise special guest, Johnny Depp!!”

Before becoming an actor, Depp began his career as a musician. He formed the supergroup Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry in 2015. He played the guitar in the band and worked with Beck on music throughout lockdown.

The news of their upcoming album came just one day after Depp won the defamation lawsuit.

The short story is, that Depp is suing his ex-wife Heard for $50 million based on a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post chronicling her experiences as a domestic abuse survivor. While Depp’s name wasn’t mentioned, his lawyers maintain that it was clear, based on how the timeline in Heard’s article matched the timeline of the couple’s relationship, who the piece was referring to, and that the piece damaged Depp’s career and reputation.

Heard also filed a $100 million countersuit. Her team alleges that she was defamed when Depp and his legal team called her allegations false (Depp’s team referred to them as a “sexual violence hoax”).

After more than six weeks, a Virginia jury found Heard liable for defaming Depp and awarded the actor $15 million in damages. Following this verdict, the judge reduced punitive damages to the state cap of $350,000, making Depp’s total damages almost $10.4 million. (Heard, who countersued her ex-husband for $100 million, was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.)

Speaking of his true character, Sharon – who spent the evening with Johnny at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday – revealed: “He is a gentle soul. I can tell you last night, he spent about 45 minutes in his dressing room on his knees, talking to this little girl that was reading her diary to him.

“Now, I don’t know many guys that would sit back and do that. There weren’t any cameras around, there were no film crews. He did it because he’s a gentle soul.” She added: “He wanted this little girl to read the diary for him and she did. She must have been all of eight years of age.

“And the thing is, he is a gentle soul, but we know what alcohol and drugs do when you mix them together, they change you. Sometimes, I suppose, he lost his rag, but as a human being he’s a good human being.”
