Johnny Depp Has Something To Celebrate

Johnny Depp is making the biggest comeback of his career, probably of anyone’s career. After being dropped from several high profile projects following his “wife-beater” days, he’s inked a deal most male stars have wet dreams about.

And just in time before the release of his first movie since the whirlwind that was his life following his ex-wife Amber Heard’s allegations of domestic and sexual abuse.

And let’s not forget that Dior was the only brand to stand by him when all others bailed, so I guess it is fitting.

Johnny Depp’s Partnership With Dior Continues In Record-Breaking Deal

Johnny Depp has just inked a $20 million three-year pact with Dior that eclipses others signed by any other male star by a longshot.

Johnny Depp Signs The Biggest Men's Frangrance Deal Ever With Dior

Just to give you by how much, the runner-up Robert Pattinson signed a $12 million to promote Dior Homme and Brad Pitt got $5 million to promote Chanel No. 5.

A source close to the fragrance industry said that most A-listers make anywhere from $2 million to 4 million yearly from fragrance deals, like Chris Pine with Armani, who made $4 million in three years with the company.

However, Depp, after serving as the face of Dior’s Sauvage since 2015, has been deemed a highly marketable figure for the brand. At the moment, Depp’s team is yet to comment on the news shared exclusively by Variety.

The deal with Dior coincides with Depp’s upcoming French-language movie, “Jeanne Du Barry,” where he plays a French aristocrat, King Louis XV.

The movie is set to open in Cannes this coming weekend, with a worldwide premiere on May 16. However, the Maïwenn-directed movie is yet to land a US distributor, which is not uncommon for a French-language movie.

“I haven’t seen the movie, but it feels like it was a good way for [Depp] to get back into everything,” an industry insider told The Hollywood Reporter.

After attending the Cannes film festival, he is expected to attend a Dior dinner on May 17, before heading to London the following day for a Jeff Beck tribute, where he will perform alongside Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart.

Fun fact: Johnny Depp lost $22.5 million when he was dropped from “Pirates of the Caribbean 6” in 2017.
