Johnny Depp and Amber Heard news reveals that Johnny greeted excited fans in New York City with a twist. He shaved off the signature mustache and beard that Pirates of the Caribbean fans had grown so accustomed to.

According to the Mirror UK, the Rum Diary star was barely recognizable after shaving his famous beard off. The 59-year-old debuted his clean-shaven mug while on tour with his friend, award-winning musician Jeff Beck following a performance by the pair of musicians in New York City.

Lad Bible reports that the new look took fans by surprise and as expected, the internet quickly caught fire with discussions about the shocking change. Of course, fans have seen a lot of Johnny Depp lately with a noticeably different appearance in the courtroom months ago during his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

After rocking his signature pirate facial hair for years, the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas star is not sporting a clean-shaven face and fans have taken to social media to discuss it. One particular TikTok video shows a clip of Depp posing for pictures with fans and another fan filming him as he approaches.

The fan gushes, wrapping his arm around Depp and describing the actor as the best actor of all time, a claim which seems to embarrass Depp a little. Other Johnny Depp fans hit up the comments section to voice their opinions.

Johnny Depp – Fans In Disbelief

One fan commented, “Why are people saying this is not him ? God forbid a man is ageing .. very gracefully I may say ! He looks so handsome here.” Another wrote, “Looks more like Johnny Vegas than Johnny Depp.”

But clearly, some social media fans didn’t even believe it was really Depp with one writing, “So obviously not him,” while another attempted to offer evidence, writing, “I worked on set with Johnny a foot apart not him and where are his tats on arm hands hair wrong colour too.”

Despite numerous fans questioning if it was even Depp, the content creator assured everyone that it was in fact him, writing, “are u guys living under a rock? this is johnny depp. just because he doesn’t look the same from a couple years ago doesn’t mean it’s not him.”
