Amber Heard Finally Appeals Verdict, Furious She Lost Defamation Case Against Johnny Depp

Amber Heard Finally Appeals Verdict, Furious She Lost Defamation Case Against Johnny DeppIt’s official guys, Amber Heard has finally made good of her words, she’s been going on and on about appealing the verdict ever since she lost the defamation trial to her ex-husband Johnny Depp. So yeah, she’s doing it. She has finally appealed the verdict which she has been saying she would do ever since last month.

Heard’s appeal for verdict was made official on Thursday, July 21, by her lawyers who filed the notice, this is coming well over a month after losing the defamation case, and mind you, the appeal was filed with the belief that the court made several errors and those errors resorted to the judge and jurys’ failing to issue the right verdict on the case.

Amber Heard Is Not Please With Judge’ Ruling

It’s no secret, Heard has never hidden her dissatisfaction with the judge’s rule, the one where the judge ruled in favor of Depp and awarded him $15 Million for damages that Heard is to pay for being found guilty of really defaming Depp, and $2 Million which Depp is to pay Heard for damages also, and that’s because Depp is not completely innocent when it came to the whole defamation thingy. They were both found guilty of defaming the other but Heard’s defamation of Depp was higher.

Okay, so it’s worthy of note that Heard has been doing everything she could think of, just so she could prove that the judge made a wrong decision by siding with Depp.

At first, Heard said a day after her loss that there were lots of evidence against Depp which weren’t used because the judge didn’t hear them. Now, concerning this, during the trial, pieces of evidence like video clips and audio clips were played in court, and witnesses were called upon to testify too, both their fellow movie stars, now, if there were some pieces of evidence left to be presented and they are unheard of by the judge before the jury decided, I’m curious to know what prevented Heard from overturning them during the trial. After all, her aim is to prove Depp guilty. She has no one to blame on that part.

Amber Heard Tried To Get A Mistrial

Heard also came up with the idea of tossing Depp’s verdict and getting a mistrial. She argued that one of the serving Jurors that appeared in court throughout the trial was the wrong jury. That the jury who appeared in court was a young juror while the rightful juror was someone of age. The mixup with juror No.15 was that, both have the same name and live at the same address but both have different ages, one is 77 years old and the other 56 years old. The Jury who is 56 years sat for the trial instead of the 77 years old jury.

Well, long story short, Heard’s appeal for mistrial wasn’t granted by the judge with reasons being that Heard had a lot of time to detect the error in the jury long before the case started but waited till the end of the case to raise it up. Well, let’s face it, it’s true because, had Heard won the case, the issue of wrong juror appearing in court wouldn’t be heard of in the first place.
Amber Heard — Can Amber Afford The Bond Fee?

Like I mentioned earlier, Heard is to pay Depp damages of $15 million. Well…the judge also said that if Heard ever appeals verdict, she would post a bond exactly the amount of damages she owes Depp and there’s a 6% interest attached to it for a year, plus other fees she’s also meant to pay.

Now here’s where things gets interesting. After the case was over, when Heard was considering appealing verdict, her lawyer Elaine Bredehoft confirmed on national TV that Heard can’t afford to pay Depp what she owes him. Now, if Heard can’t afford to pay the damages, can she now afford to pay for the verdict?

Did I mention that it didn’t just end at Heard posting the compulsory bond as cost of the verdict including the 6% interest per annum, but that it also depends on the insurance company that would surety the posted bonds, they may or may not charge Heard more for collateral.

Now, in case you haven’t heard, Heard sometime last week asked her insurance company to help in paying half of her dept to Depp, turns out her insurance company is team Depp, they refused on the grounds that she did Depp dirty.

Well, since Heard has already appealed the verdict, it means she’s equal to the task, payments and all. Whatever comes out of this, be rest assured it’ll be interesting.
