Here’s what we know.

Justin Timberlake’s -Lawyer Blames Police “Errors” For Labeling Singer Drunk

During the time of his arrest in Long Island, New York, Timberlake reportedly claimed to have only drunk “one martini” before leaving the hotel where he dined and had a great time with his friends.

There were multiple reports suggesting that he had grabbed somebody else’s drink and chugged it down. Whatever happened, the police were clear in their report, and that was that he was drunk.

Okay, okay, let me recap for anyone who might have missed the whole buildup and doesn’t necessarily understand how “it’s going to ruin the world tour” came to be.

Timberlake was arrested on 18 June for running a red light and driving on the wrong lane. When the police were making the arrest, they noticed that his eyes “were bloodshot and glassy” and he smelled of alcohol.

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the one-page filing by prosecutors, which was based on the sworn statements of Sag Harbor Police Officer Michael D. Arkinson, read.

As the “SexyBack” singer prepares to appear virtually in court on August 2 – he’s currently touring Europe – his lawyer Justice Carl Irace is working on having the case dismissed. His major point? There were “very significant errors” in the report made by the police.

“He was not intoxicated,” Mr Burke said outside court. “I’ll say it again. Justin Timberlake was not intoxicated.”

Certain things were changed and updated in the filing – “paperwork issue” – even though “facts and circumstance of the case” reportedly remain unchanged.

Clinging to this, Timberlake’s lawyer said, “In court today, you heard the district attorney try to fix one of those errors. But that’s just one and there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes and this is just one of those instances.”
