Ever since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, Kanye West has used Instagram as a sort of public therapist. As a result, Ye (as he’s also known) has taken social media on his own roller-coaster of emotions. For instance, the 44-year-old rapper showed hope in his Instagram pleading with the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” (KUWTK) star, 41, to take him back. But West also expressed anger in his social media posts slamming Kim’s boyfriend, Pete Davidson, 28.
And now Kanye has posted his darkest Instagram yet. As a result, Ye’s followers argued over the meaning. Does West’s “dead” poem imply that he fears he will get murdered? Or does the father of four mean that battling Kardashian over the divorce has left him feeling literally lifeless? Find out more below.
Kanye West – Pens ‘Dead’ Poem, Featuring ‘My Murderer’!
Kim Kardashian recently won a key victory in her ongoing Kanye West divorce drama, becoming declared legally single. And now her estranged husband seems to have responded in a frighteningly dark poem on Instagram. For instance, Ye refers alternatively to the divorce and to his own premonitions of death, noted TMZ.
“No one wanted to tell me I was DEAD,” mourns Kanye in his poem. And the father of Psalm, Chicago, Saint, and North West envisions his own grave left unattended as his kids party. “My kids would dance for me in a home I once led,” pens Ye in a reference to Kim owning the home they used to share.

But West also used his poem to express anger at the media. For instance, the rapper poetically slammed, “Everything was wrong in the press that I read.” But the dark part of the poem came towards the end. “I found out one day at the newsstand in purgatory there was a front page article of my murderer’s story,” finishes up Ye.
But like many of Kanye West’s creations, social media couldn’t quite agree on the meaning. And don’t look to Ye to interpret. “I will not explain this new piece for the explanation destroys the mystery and magic of true love and puts it in a box that can be counted,” announced Kim Kardashian’s estranged husband.
Kanye West – Social Media Controversy Erupts Over Kanye West ‘Dead’ Poem
As a result of the ominous implications of Kanye West’s “dead” poem, social media erupted in debate. For instance, some tried to figure out who Kanye meant in referring to his supposed future assassin. Did West imply that he literally believes someone will kill him? Or does Kim’s former true love feel so depressed that he sees her filing for divorce as murdering all his dreams? Some on social media tried to offer hope.

“Hopefully Kanye finds a new love,” wrote one kind commentator on Twitter. But others felt that Ye had gone too far in the self-pity department. As a result, these critics pointed to West’s attempt to enter the political arena. For instance, one accused West of supporting “the liar clown and…using uninformed voters who’d look no further than celebrity to make their decision.”
But some expressed serious concern over the dark and ominous tone of Kanye’s new poem. “Why isn’t anyone in his family &/or team stepping up to get this man help?” questioned one fan. And others pointed to Kim Kardashian as the one who should intervene. Family and friends do not “have the power over him to do so… It must come from Kim Kardashian [because she seems] to be his strength,” argued another.
