Ever since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West, the estranged couple has battled over custody. But on June 8, West celebrates his 45th birthday. And what the rapper wants most involves time with the four children he shares with Kim.

But will his estranged wife Kim Kardashian agree to Kanye’s wish for a birthday spent with their children? Faced with a decision about whether to take the high road and give in, Kim agreed, according to sources cited by Yahoo.

Kardashian even took time to help all the children choose gifts for West. And that meant guiding her daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 4, along with sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 3, to figure out what daddy might like. “She has been taking the kids shopping to pick something out for their dad’s birthday,” revealed one insider. But beyond focusing on their children, Kim still has feelings for her estranged husband.

“She wanted to make sure and buy a gift for their father from each of the kids because she still cares about Kanye,” added the source. “And that is just what mothers dKardashianelp with the gift-giving, Kim also listened to West’s wishes about his actual birthday. 

Kanye West – ‘Will Always Be Family’

When Kim learned that Kanye wanted to spend his birthday with all four children, the reality TV star agreed. Kim feels “all for it,” added another source about West’s wishes. “Kanye will always be family.” But Kardashian also believes that the estranged spouses have a way to go before they co-parent peacefully, according to the insider.

“And she actually wishes they were at a place where she could throw him a great birthday party because she knows how much their kids would love that,” said the source. “Unfortunately, they’re not there yet when it comes to their co-parenting relationship. But Kim does dream that one day, they might reach that level.”

However, Kanye and Kim have taken opposing ways of communicating. For instance, West has formerly slammed Kardashian on social media and in songs. But the reality TV star has tried to focus on the positive.

“I always want my kids to just see the best of the best,” Kim summed up. As a result, Kardashian tries to “ignore” Kanye’s negative remarks.  And she tries “as hard as it can be sometimes — I do try to ignore it and try to do whatever’s best for the kids. Take the high road.”
