Kim Kardashian’s SNL Monologue Had Kanye West Walking Out During The Show

Remember that October hosting gig at Saturday Night Live by Kim Kardashian? The one she made a joke about her divorce from her ex-husband Kanye “Ye” West? Well… Turns out, Kanye walked out of the show during Kim’s monologue.

While everyone found the joke funny and laughed so hard, Kanye didn’t find the joke funny one bit. In Kim’s joke, she said, “I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to one thing: his personality.”

In the May 5 episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder revealed that Kanye had attended her October hosting gig but he walked out during her monologue. Surprisingly, it wasn’t Kim’s jab about divorcing Kanye because of “his personality” that upset him.

Talking to her sister Khloé, Kim said, “He wished I said the word ‘filed’ for divorce, and he was upset that I also said he was a rapper. He said, ‘I’m so much more than a rapper, I can’t believe you said rapper.'”

In a confessional, Kim noted that her intention wasn’t to offend Kanye and that the monologue was meant to poke fun at everything personal to her. “It’s all fun and games,” she added. “And, apparently, it wasn’t to him.”

While talking with Khloe, Kim revealed that she was frustrated, as she’d previously stood by Kanye during “speeches and things that have not been the most comfortable for me.”

Khloe understanding firsthand what Kim meant, chimed in, “Not even just speeches. Strong public stances he’s taken in many different areas that might not be your stance, but you were his wife, and that’s what you do. But how is that fair for you?”

Kim went on to note that Kanye is “so used to getting exactly what he wants,” but that she wasn’t going to tolerate it when it came to her, saying, “It’s not gonna happen here.”

Before the monologue joke about her ex-husband, the reality star was initially adamant about making a joke concerning her divorce from the rapper, she revealed on the April 21 episode of “The Kardashians,” that she’s always afraid of hurting people’s feelings. This revelation came when she was getting ready for her first-ever hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Kim’s major concern was whether she should poke fun at her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West. In a confessional, the SKIMS founder conveyed that she’s “always afraid of hurting people’s feelings” and had no intention of making fun of the “father of my kids.” She added, “And it doesn’t mean that because we didn’t work out that we don’t have a great love and respect for each other.”

Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 and was declared legally single more than a year later. In court documents obtained by E! News in February, Kim stated, “While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realization that there is no way to repair our marriage. Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realization that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not.”
