PETA Calls Out The Kardashians For Selling Rare-Skinned Clothing

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) a company for animal rights, is doing everything in its power to stop the Kardashians from promoting the use of fur materials which are made from animal skins such as sheep, snakes, etc.

Back in 2008, Khloe Kardashian was asked to star in PETA’s, “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. After sitting to watch several gury videos of how animals are murdered in gruesome ways, Khloe denounced furs and shifted to faux and “Vegan furs.”

Four years later, the company began targeting Kim for wearing furs to the extent of flour-bombing her. Pamela Anderson who’s a PETA supporter went as far as penning down an open letter to Kim, begging Kim “to set a trendy, compassionate example” to her young fans.

The Kardashians — Statement From PETA’s Senior Vice President

Recently, the Kardashians are being appealed to by PETA to donate their fur and exotic animal-skinned goods which the family currently put on sale in their online store “Kardashian Kloset,” to the homeless.

PETA Calls Out The Kardashians For Selling Rare-Skinned Clothing

A statement released by PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange says, “Nothing can undo the suffering of foxes, minks, snakes, and alligators who were killed to make a jacket or a pair of shoes, but the Kardashians can still do some good with these items.”

The statement continues, “PETA has called on this family — which has so much — to donate them to us for use in educational displays and to distribute to unhoused people, refugees, and others in tremendous need.”

The company’s main target in the reality tv family is Kim. Back in 2019, after Pamela Anderson told Kim, “I know your young fans would admire you and your brand even more if you dropped fur,” the 42-year-old denounced fur. She even told her followers on Instagram, “Fun fact – I took all of my fave furs and remade them in faux fur.”

Kris Jenner, 67, has 12 items put up for sale on their website. Items like black snakeskin Brian Atwood heels and a Dolce and Gabbana leopard print marmot fur coat with a silver fox fur collar, worth $8,995.

Kim on the other hand has 13 items including mink fur coats, python-skinned skirts, and crocodile handbags worth thousands of dollars ready to be sold and wheeled out.

The Kardashians — Does This Make The Kardashians Law Breakers?

Last month, in March 2023, a judge for the U.S. District Court in a bid to end the fur trade ruled against California selling and manufacturing new animal fur products.

Although the state cannot sell and manufacture animal fur products, exemptions are made to still retain certain fashion products such as alligator and crocodile products.

That being said, the Kardashians have not broken any laws by selling their vintage items. Some popular fashion brands such as Prada, Gucci, Chanel, and Versace ditched the use of fur to make fashion statements.
