Kate Hudson Shares How She Can Smell Matthew McConaughey From A Mile Away On Set

Few people discuss this aspect of acting, but Kate Hudson did recently. The July 11 episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live’ featured the actor describing what it was like to film the 2008 movie ‘Fool’s Gold’ with Matthew McConaughey. Hudson refuted the rumor that she “forced” McConaughey to wear deodorant on set.

“No, he doesn’t wear deodorant. And by the way, I don’t either,” Hudson told host Andy Cohen and celebrity stylist Brad Goreski. “I could smell him from a mile away ’cause we got so close,” she humorously added.

Kate – Shares Marriage Experience With Chris Robinson

Hudson has been unusually forthcoming about her career and personal life as of late. This May, in an interview on Alex Cooper’s interpersonal-sex-and-relationships podcast, ‘Call Her Daddy’, she discussed her marriage to The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson. Hudson, who was 21 when they married, said she has no regrets about their whirlwind romance.

“I didn’t question it for a second. We were so connected,” Hudson said. “Chris taught me so much about love and connection. It was just a wonderfully passionate relationship.” The couple were married from 2000 to 2007, and share a son, Ryder.

Addressing Negative Comments Over Oliver Hudson

In April, Hudson addressed negative comments directed at her brother, Oliver Hudson, for complaining about his traumatic childhood, at the hands of his mother – actor Goldie Hawn.

Hudson posted a TikTok video of her expressing her initial indifference at the trolls, before talking about the experience.

“I was like, ‘Who cares?’ And then I really started thinking about it and I’m like, ‘Well, people do care, actually,'” Hudson reflected. “It’s not nice when people take something out of context or they look at something you’re doing and they get all negative about it.”

Kate – Talks About Estranged Relationship With Dad

Later that month, Hudson talked about her estranged relationship with her dad – musician Bill Hudson, who was previously married to actor Goldie Hawn until 1982, separating from Hawn while Kate and her brother were still young.

Kate Hudson and her brother, Oliver Hudson, were raised by Hawn and her long-term partner, Kurt Russell.
