Kim Kardashian has, for many years, been a fashion icon that mostly serves and rarely misses. But fans aren’t feeling the outfit she pulled together to attend a Christmas party that saw many A-list celebs stunning in festive outfits.

As always, fans had a few things to say about her “poor” choice of clothing.

But socialite Kathy Hilton, whose daughter Paris, 41, has been longtime friends with Kim Kardashian, stepped up to defend the reality star on the grounds that she did not default from the theme of the party.

In fact, no one could go wrong considering that attendees can wear whatever makes them feel comfortable. “Everybody’s just [supposed] to come as they want and be comfortable,” Kathy Hilton, 63, said of the evening event’s theme.

Seeing that comfortability is one of the points of the theme, Kim showed up in what made her the most comfortable. And this happened to be a high-waisted, belted leather Dolce & Gabbana pants and an old-school “Up in Smoke” tour concert T-shirt tucked into her bra.

Kathy then called it “silly” and “ridiculous” that people would blast the 42-year-old for showing up at a festive party dressed so casually.

Speaking on whether she agreed that Kim could have tried to come in something less casual and edgy, she said: “No, no. She always looks beautiful.”

Childhood friends Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian reunited at the Christmas party, which took place on Dec. 17, and saw Kris Jenner, Paula Abdul, Heidi Klum, Paris’ husband Reum Carter, and Paris’ sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild in attendance.
