According to the latest edition of The Globe, producers are hoping that Katie can help revive Good Morning America, as the show’s ratings have plummeted these last several months because of Amy and T.J.’s scandal. One source close to the situation even put it this way, “Bringing Katie back to morning TV would be a huge coup for ABC.”

The tipster added, “The excitement about hiring her would cover the stench left behind by Amy and T.J.”

If that weren’t enough, insiders also say that the show’s producers have been desperate to shake things up a bit and hopefully get rid of the scandal that Amy and T.J. left behind them. Yet, bringing Katie Couric on the show won’t be very easy. And while she’s someone who has had her fair share of controversies in the past, she’s also someone who can bring in the ratings and Katie knows that. She’s going to come with a hefty price tag and that’s something the producers will have to consider before making her an offer.

The source said, “Katie doesn’t work on the same salary that Amy and T.J. worked for. She may not be worth the money.”
