Keanu Reeves is not afraid to try new things even at 60. On Saturday, Oct. 5, the ‘Matrix’ star made his professional racing debut at the Toyota GR Cup in Indianapolis. Can you guess the position he placed among 35 racers?

Keanu Reeves just had a real life John Wick moment at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. Reeves qualified 31st out of 35 cars for the Toyota GR Cup – a series which takes place alongside the Indy 8 Hour event.

According to Associated Press, Reeves’ car spun out of control at one point, but he quickly recovered and kept racing, whilst signalling fans and crew that he’s fine. Driving a red No. 92 BRZRKR car – a reference to his graphic novel ‘The Book of Elsewhere’ – he finished in the 25th position, even though he ranked as high as as the 21st position at some point during the race.

While this is his professional debut, Reeves has been known to race, especially in 2009 when he competed – and won – the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach’s celebrity race.

The action star, who is set to compete again on Sunday, Oct. 6, has been a long-time fan of racing. He was pictured enjoying the final day of the MotoGP Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland in Germany with girlfriend Alexandra Grant. In July 2022, he attended the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, saying of the experience at the time, “It was wet, but it was thrilling.”

He further told Express, “It was absolutely amazing to be that close. Silverstone and rain, perfect. I think being that close to it, just seeing the speed and the way that they’re going at the turns and exiting the turns is something unbelievable.”

Apart from racing and attending racing events, Reeves has also hosted and produced ‘Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story.’ The project is a four-part documentary about the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship. It is currently available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
