Kelly Ripa Admits That She’s Seriously Considering Retirement

With all the work that she’s put in both in soaps and her daytime talk show, it’s no wonder that she’s looking forward to having a break. All My Children alum Kelly Ripa recently admitted that she’s thinking more and more about her retirement plan as she wants to definitely step back from her work and the spotlight. Kelly Ripa – Admits That She’s Seriously Considering Retirement

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the blonde beauty admitted that she knows her days in front of the cameras are numbered and that she’s absolutely okay with it, too. As many fans probably already know, Ryan Seacrest has stepped down from his show with Kelly. Her husband Mark Consuelos will be taking his place instead.

Kelly put it this way, “Every time you get a new cohost, it’s like a little jolt of energy. But to be clear, I am always thinking about retiring. It is my favorite topic of discussion. A daily morning live talk show is nothing without its consistency and continuity. And Mark provides that, not just for our audience, but for me, for our producers. And so if anybody could make me stay, it is definitely Mark.”

Meanwhile, a separate report suggests that Ryan Seacrest couldn’t wait to leave Live! as he was tired of working and having to see Kelly Ripa day in and day out and for several different reasons, too.

What’s Next For Ryan Seacrest?

One source close to the situation said, “Ryan felt as if Kelly was treating him like her kid in front of the cameras and he didn’t like that one bit. Ryan’s fully aware that Kelly was enraged when Michael Strahan left the show without telling her – and later thrived in the same place that he’s likely heading to. Doing the same thing would make it that much sweeter for him!”

It’s also being said that Ryan might make the switch to Good Morning America. The tipster added, “Network bosses are looking at completely retooling Good Morning America with a live audience, music and celebrity guests – all in an effort to play to Ryan’s strength and wash away the strain of the scandal.”
