After a supposed Michelle Pfeiffer’s haircut turned out to be a Carol Brady’s haircut, Kelly Ripa learned her lessons on haircut the hard way.
Not that she completely ruled off cutting her hair, nope. Actually, she plans to continue getting “a haircut until I get the haircut.”
During a recent episode of “Live with Kelly & Mark” which aired on Wednesday, co-host Kelly Ripa shared her fears of getting her haircut with co-host Mark Consuelos who also happens to be her husband.
According to Kelly, whenever she’s done cutting her hair short in the salon, she ends up regretting her decision in the first place.
To prove her point, she provided throwback photos of herself in different haircuts over the years, and went on to say, “Yes, I want to get a haircut until I get the haircut.” — per PEOPLE.
She went on to explain, “Because once I get the haircut, then I have to maintain the haircut. And when your hair is this length, this is a good ponytail length. So, like, when I come to work, my hair is done for me and it looks nice.”
She also revealed that her fear originated years ago when she went to get a Michelle Pfeiffer’s haircut and the result was so bad that it turned into a Carol Brady’s haircut. She also mentioned that she was convinced to get the haircut by her husband Mark.
Kelly Ripa — Mark’s Reaction When He Saw Kelly’s Haircut
Just like the 53-year-old said, the haircut was a disaster, and Mark proved it when he said, “It ended up looking like Carol Brady, and I just didn’t understand how it happened, I was like, ‘Wait, what happened, I saw Michelle Pfeiffer five minutes ago! Now it’s Carol Brady!’ So now when you ask me, I say, ‘Babe, do what you want to do. Just do what you want to do.’”
Kelly didn’t agree with Mark’s last statement as she corrected him by saying his original words incited fear in her, “No, that’s not what you say. What he says is, ‘Do what you want to do, but just know that you’re going to be miserable as soon as you cut your hair off.’ That’s what you say. So that discourages me.”
Afterward, Kelly dropped some comments on the latest trending hairstyle in Hollywood which is a touch of Pixie and Bob. “They’re calling it a bixie cut,” said Kelly before adding, “All of the women look adorable.”
She noted that the models she’s seen rocking the hair are always in their 20s, “First of all, they never use anyone over the age of 20 for any of these. So look how cute she looks. Fashiony, beautiful, gorgeous. Gorgeous, amazing.” She then revealed that she wanted to see what the hair looked like first thing in the morning after sleep.
“Well, what I want them to show me is the picture of these women out in the wild, on their own, not under the aid of a hairstylist after they’ve woken up in the morning and show me what the hair looks like. Show me what the hair looks like after it’s taken the shape of the pillow and the bed sheet. Or the hat — it’s cold now.”
Maybe, if they meet Kelly’s needs, she might go for that hairstyle.
