Kevin Costner Reveals He’ll Never Forget 10-Minute Standing Ovation For Horizon At Cannes

Kevin Costner Reveals He'll Never Forget 10-Minute Standing Ovation For Horizon At CannesKevin Costner is feeling so blessed for the love he received at Cannes for his passion project “Horizon,” which took him so many years to get off the ground – 35 years to be exact. So we can understand why the ‘Yellowstone’ star was teary-eyed during the beautiful moment.

To make the moment even more beautiful, he attended the premiere event with five of his seven children: Annie, 40, Lily, 37, Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 13.

Kevin Costner – Says ‘Horizon’ Isn’t Mine Anymore In Emotional Speech At Cannes

Costner, 69, was moved to tears to see his movie “Horizon: An American Saga” receive a 10-minute standing ovation at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 19.

The enthusiastic response to the period drama drove Costner on to make an emotional speech, thanking the crowd for their love and praising his children for dressing and showing up to support him.

Taking the stage and addressing the crowd, Costner joked, “I’m sorry you had to clap that long for me to understand that I should speak.”

“Such good people,” he continued. “Such a good moment, not just for me, but for the actors who came with me, for people who believed in me, who continued to work.”

He then gushed that while it’s “a funny business,” “there’s no place like here.”

But perhaps the part that touched him the most was that he was receiving the honor in the presence of his children. “I’ll never forget this,” he said, adding, “Neither with my children. They all look so beautiful, dressed up so nice, the women, the men. They’re so handsome.”

Talking about the time and dedication and dream that fueled the making of ‘Horizon,’ he said, “I made this. It’s not mine anymore. It’s yours. I knew that the minute this was over and that’s what it should be. I think movies aren’t about their opening weekends. They’re about their life and about how many times you’re willing to share it.”

“There was no reason that this was gonna happen, and it’s just another miracle in my life,” he added, getting emotional. “Thank you so much for giving me your precious time. I hope that this time was worth it for you. Thank you.”
