Kevin Costner’s ‘Horizon: An American’ Saga Gets A Second Intense Trailer

If you thought the first trailer was intense, it’s not intense compared to the second one, which suavely showed off Costner’s gun-slinging and tough-talking character. And that stand-off with Jamie Campbell Bower is sure to give your goosebumps goosebumps.

The first trailer showed us the chaos that envelopes a town when settlers move in, and the second one is taking us deep into the heart of the whole process that led to the massive unrest.

While you may claim to have seen Kevin Costner in a western movie for many years – re ‘Yellowstone’ – you haven’t seen him in this one.

Let’s just say he’s a tad more brutal within this new environment.

Apart from showing us the breathtaking landscapes, we’re also introduced to more characters and we get to see and understand more of Costner’s character.

“…men will take from you until you are wiped clean from this land. I’m just saying that’s something you might want to keep in mind,” a character tells Costner’s character, who replies, “you think?”

When both men draw guns, we see Costner’s character shoot. However, we don’t get to see whether he hits his target. The trailer also showed us a romantic side of the movie that the first didn’t.

A synopsis teases that Horizon “explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won — and lost — through the blood, sweat and tears of many.”

“Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Kevin Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.”

‘Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1’ will hit theaters this June 28, with the second part dropping on Aug. 16.
